Limited Edition: Special vintages of premium single-varietal wines
Edición limitada. cata vertical
  • There are two options available: a vertical tasting, featuring the same wine from different vintages, or a horizontal tasting, which brings together the three wines from a single year.
  • Hay dos opciones: una vertical del mismo vino de diferentes añadas, o bien en horizontal, y que reúne un mismo año de las tres referencias.

The Verdejo grape, so essential to Spain’s winemaking history, is the ancestral essence behind the alchemy of the great Castilian white wines. Bodegas José Pariente has undoubtedly been the winery that has done the most to elevate the endless potential of this small grape, born of a strong and resilient vine. It was first Victoria Pariente, and now her children — Martina and Ignacio Prieto Pariente, all viticulturists and winemakers — who have transformed this variety, the pride of Rueda, into a true symbol. For this reason, they now wish to share a small selection of the finest vintages of their single‑varietal Verdejo wines. This very limited edition features the best years of three historic wines for the winery: Las Fincas de José Pariente (previously known as José Pariente Fermentado en Barrica), Finca Las Comas, and Finca La Medina, which in its early years was called Cuvée Especial. These three emblems of Rueda Verdejo — elegant, subtle, and deeply expressive — are the perfect gift for the festive season and a well‑deserved tribute to the craftsmanship of this family of viticulturists who have turned white wine into an art form.

Available in boxes of 3 or 6 bottles, there are two formats to choose from. The first is the classic vertical tasting, which includes bottles of a single wine, carefully selected from the 2020, 2021, and 2022 vintages. This allows one to appreciate the influence of climate and of the winemaker’s hand across different years. The second option, the horizontal tasting, invites exploration of the delicious nuances of the three wines from the same vintage (2020, 2021, or 2022). It offers a vivid way to see how a single grape variety — sourced from different parcels — can give rise to wines that are very distinct from one another, yet united by the superb single‑varietal soul of Verdejo. Each case may contain one bottle of each wine (3 bottles) or two bottles of each (6 bottles). Owing to their unique nature, the number of available cases is extremely limited. Limited Edition. Three wines that embody the history of great white wine The selection of these three wines as the protagonists of this release is no coincidence; they are essential references for understanding the history of Bodegas José Pariente and its vision of viticulture. Finca Las Comas was the family’s first single‑parcel wine and is produced only in vintages considered exceptional. It comes from the vineyard that gives it its name, Las Comas, planted in 1910 as bush vines on a limestone and stony soil. Aged in oak foudres, it is a unique and deeply personal interpretation of Rueda’s Verdejo.

As Marina Prieto Pariente, the winery’s technical director, explains: “Behind this special edition there is much more than the intention to celebrate Verdejo; we open the doors of our winery and share the small treasures we have been guarding for years, letting them mature slowly in bottle to offer unique nuances. With these cases, wine lovers will enjoy discovering how rainfall or temperature shapes the same wine over time, or appreciating, in each reference, the importance of winemaking and its particularities. We hope they enjoy tasting them as much as we have enjoyed selecting each bottle.”

This selection of José Pariente’s great classics is available for purchase in the online shop.
